⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I don’t usually write reviews, but: Maine Community Solar! Everyone should be doing this. The sign up is super easy (you use your log in information with your existing electricity supplier, which couldn’t be simpler!) I’m not super tech savvy, but Sydney walked me through every step to make sure we got it right. You save money, support the growth of local solar farms, and basically don’t have to do a thing in the process. Do it!

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join a solar farm?
The short answer is almost anyone! So long as you have an active utility account, you’re eligible. There’s no special equipment to buy or install. Don’t own your property? No problem. Homeowners, renters, places of worship, and businesses of all sizes can support clean energy and benefit from cheap solar power.
How am I matched up with a solar farm?
When you provide your utility information, the solar company reviews your past year of electricity usage so they know how much energy you need. They identify your service area and search for local solar farms that have the capacity available to meet your needs. In most cases, that’s it. A match is made and you’re offered a subscription to that solar farm.
What does the program cost?
There is no cost to join the program. You pay for the bill credits applied to your electric bill at a 10 or 15% discount based on the program you join.
Can I opt out of the program?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
What’s the catch?
There is no catch, that’s a common question but these programs are made possible by State laws and are rapidly expanding around the country. The savings guarantee is provided in writing by the solar developer to you. You can find many recent articles and news stories about community solar in Maine. Many local businesses and homeowners have already reserved their spot on a solar farm.
